You grow your career within a movement that matters, where success is measured in people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to never stop changing lives and situations for the better.

When you choose to be a force for good, you'll have mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful career path. You align your life's work with an ongoing mission that's bigger than all of us. A Day in the Life: Your Impact
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood — and you help make that lifesaving connection possible.

You'll travel with your team to donation sites at schools, community centers, workplaces, and more. This role blends hands-on teamwork, meaningful interactions, and the satisfaction of knowing your work matters.

Your day includes:
  • Set the Stage — Transport and set up equipment to turn everyday spaces into professional donation centers. All staff work as a team to set up and tear down the equipment required to conduct a mobile blood drive.
  • Connect with Donors — Welcome donors, listen to their stories, and help them feel comfortable and valued.
  • Build Real Skills — Perform safe, high-quality blood collections once fully trained in phlebotomy techniques.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance — Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure every donation meets quality standards and can be safely transfused.
  • Pack Up with Purpose — Leave each site knowing the blood collected today could reach a patient within days.

The Schedule (Earlysville, Virginia)
We operate when donors are available, so you can expect a mix of:
  • Early mornings
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Occasional holidays
  • Some locations may require overnight travel.
Your schedule is shared 2–3 weeks in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan your life around your work.

What We're Looking For:
We’re looking for people with heart, reliability, and strong potential — whether your background is medical, service-based, or community-focused.

You'll do well here if you have:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
  • A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable personal transportation may be required in certain locations.
  • Basic computer skills required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

Physical Requirements:
This role is physically active. You'll need to be comfortable with:
  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Adapting to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • A minimum height of 60 inches (required to safely operate Red Cross vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications:
Bonus points (not required) — we love seeing experience in any of the following:
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Retail, hospitality, food service, military service, or other people-focused roles.
